We love getting to know each and every patient…. and are extremely excited for you to get to know us! Our amazing team of therapists + our unique patient-care-model + our custom, intentionally designed facility = a winning combination!
OUR TEAM
We have an Awesome team!! . . . Collectively as a group, they are a diverse team of experts, combining doctoral level education together with years of experience and continuing education. They love to learn from one another and collaborate when needed to bring patients the best possible results.
Our therapists’ commitment to education sets our team apart. They do so much more than just treat patients. Many of our therapists are also APTA credentialed clinical instructors, teaching Doctoral PT students during their final semesters in school. Our clinic is a sought after clinical rotation among PT schools/students, who compete for placement at The Gait Center. Three of our therapists have even been awarded the Clinical Educator of the Year award by VCU!
But wait there is more . . .
Several of our other outstanding therapists devote much of their time & talents to advancing the education of physical therapists in the following ways. Our owner is the founder and CEO of the Mission Gait Foundation (MGF), and two of our therapists also work for MGF as the Director of Research and Educational Resources, and the Director of Curriculum Development. From being internationally sought after to teach courses, to guest lecturers at universities, to completing ground-breaking research, to publishing, to developing the national Gait Certification program, to creating educational videos with over 2650+ subscribers in 158 countries. (exciting, right!)
Another team-member’s compassion for patients with Parkinson’s disease led her to open Rock Steady Boxing Richmond. A much needed resource in the community!
All of this enhances and reinforces our team’s understanding of physical therapy, and this knowledge spills over into their treatment of patients and their ability to educate and empower patients. Hey! Don’t forget to check out our “Designed Facility” page to learn how we turned a 5-bay warehouse into the impressive, warm, inviting, energizing space it is today!! From space planning to custom designed elements, our clinic’s unique features and carefully-made design decisions were made with YOU, the patient, in mind. The construction documents and much of the renovation work was done by our owners. But don’t worry – one of them is a professional, certified interior designer with years of experience. We couldn’t have done it without our team, family, and friends chipping in to help along the way. (thank goodness!) See Before & After pictures of all the action!!
