Lindsay Nexsen, PT, DPT

Lindsay Dawson Nexsen, PT, DPT received her Doctorate Degree in Physical Therapy from Virginia Commonwealth University in Richmond, Virginia. She also received a Post Baccalaureate Certification in Neurodevelopmental Disabilities, with a focus on a multi-disciplinary approach to treating children with disabilities. Prior to pursuing a career in Physical Therapy, Lindsay graduated from The College of William and Mary in Williamsburg, Virginia with a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology and Sociology. She was then employed at Children's National Medical Center in Washington, DC in the social work department. Here Lindsay helped families navigate the process of having a sick child in the hospital and found resources that could help these families. It was during this job that she discovered a love for working in the medical field and decided to pursue a career in Physical Therapy.
At Lawrence Rehabilitation, Lindsay loves working with patients of all different backgrounds and with a variety of diagnoses. She enjoys the individualized approach that she can provide each patient to make sure they can reach their fullest potential. She has a special interest in working with neurological disorders, including Parkinson's disease, patients with balance difficulties, joint replacement recovery, and young children.

Lindsay owns Rock Steady Boxing Richmond, a gym dedicated to helping those with Parkinson's disease "fight back." She enjoys seeing the participants at her gym not only reach their fitness goals but also report back to how much more independence and confidence they have gained in their daily lives.

Lindsay is originally from Lynchburg, Virginia and enjoys visiting often to see her family and the mountains. She enjoys running, barre classes, reading, water skiing, and spending time with her husband, Gray, and black lab, Teddy.
